Will The UK Leave The EU On Time?

This question originally came from the Ask Me A Question blog, where it was submitted by Spider. We are opening it up here as a forum discussion as well.
Spider wrote: Will the UK really leave the EU on time? I have been hearing all sorts of debates between Brexiteers and Remainers.
This is now a historical political question rather than a live prediction.

The UK did leave the European Union, but the original question still works as a discussion about uncertainty, political debate, deadlines, public division and how major decisions are handled.

A few points to discuss:
  • Looking back, why was there so much uncertainty around the deadline?
  • Did the debate change how people viewed UK politics?
  • What did both sides of the argument get right or wrong?
  • How did Brexit affect everyday discussion between friends and families?
  • Are historical political questions easier to answer after the dust settles?
Keep the discussion civil. Brexit still brings strong views, but personal attacks help nobody.
